Kirk Talpers

Private Company Roundtable
Controller Coleman Equipment

Kirk Talpers serves on the Board as the Private Company Roundtable Chair. He has been a member of FEI Kansas City for twenty years and is the Controller for Coleman Equipment. Kirk received his accounting degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia.

He and his wife have been married for twenty-eight years and live in Lee’s Summit. They have two children who are now venturing out on their own and starting their careers. Kirk said, “Before joining FEI, I was not familiar with the organization. I was invited to a dinner meeting by a fellow colleague and knew right then this was the place to be as a financial
executive. Having served on the board for seventeen years in various roles has provided a tremendous insight into the various aspects of the organization. However, the roundtable discussion group has proved the most beneficial by providing members with information and ideas that are practical in nature and ones that bring immediate solutions to every-day business challenges. The collaboration and networking with fellow executives on a regular basis are features unique to this group.”

Kirk is a fan of all sports and enjoys playing golf. He has a particular interest in soccer having coached his kids and working as a referee for the past ten years. He has been a volunteer with the Boys Scouts for the past fifteen years and served in leadership roles at the pack and troop level.
