Katie Hiett is the Career Management Coordinator on the FEI KC Board. She joined FEI in 2009 because it was a great opportunity to meet and learn from other Finance & Accounting executives in the Kansas City area.
Katie is the Principal for H5 Consulting – Pharmaceutical & Financial Consulting Services. She is a CPA with a Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas, an accounting degree from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in accounting/Tax from UMKC.
Katie’s favorite sports teams are KC Chiefs and KU Men’s Basketball. She enjoys playing volleyball and pickleball as well as traveling. She lives in Leawood and has 4 kids and a Great Pyrenees named Bear.\
When asked why she chose a career in finance Katie said, “I started out in accounting and over time, I migrated into Finance and Executive leadership roles helping companies solve problems that impacted their top and bottom line. These experiences have allowed me to work across multiple industries including manufacturing, tech, oil & gas, and pharmaceuticals. I think it is a great career path that allows for numerous opportunities to expand into leadership and operational areas of any industry or company.”
