Laura Martin serves on the board as the PR and Social Media chair. She joined FEI in 2018 after serving as Treasurer of a mid-size pharmacy automation company.
The majority of Laura’s career has been in the New York fashion industry as an Account Executive and Retail Planner managing different apparel wholesale businesses. She has worked for iconic brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Ann Taylor. Laura started her career in Fixed Income with Deutsche Bank.
When asked why she chose a career in finance Laura said, “Originally it was to work on Wall Street. I enjoy learning the story of the business through the numbers and being able to validate decisions and influence business partners with that story. Having a finance background only helps me to be a better Account Executive.”
Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Spanish. She is originally from Overland Park and currently lives in Prairie Village with her two young daughters.
“Being involved in FEI has expanded my network with many intelligent, accomplished and genuine people whom I consider not only fellow FEI members but dear friends. We are mutually committed to one another’s professional development and it’s invaluable to have that type of support system.”
This will be Laura’s third year serving on the board, with previous roles in Career Management and Membership.
